I can’t say enough great things about Katie, my mother’s bath aide. She’s so warm and caring. She’s gentle with my mother, pays attention to every detail. I rescued my mother from the nursing home where she lived. She was a victim of neglect and abuse. When I changed my mother’s diaper for the first time, I horrified by what I saw. Katie explained why my mother’s skin was so damaged and pointed out places on other places that were scratched or brushed. She doesn’t hold conversations bc she is laser focused on the patient. She even discovered scratches and a cut that I couldn’t see. She’s is called to do this, and she is a blessing.

Affinity Hospice provided exceptional care for my father, Ray, during his final season of life. Their compassion, expertise, and attention to every detail were evident in all they did. From skilled nursing care to gentle, respectful bathing assistance, they treated my dad with dignity, patience, and genuine kindness. The nurses and aides moved with such ease and confidence, anticipating his needs and ensuring his comfort while also supporting our family through an incredibly emotional time. They explained everything clearly, responded quickly, and brought a calming presence into our home when we needed it most. We are deeply grateful for the care, respect, and compassion Affinity Hospice showed my father. Their team made a difficult journey more peaceful, and we will never forget the comfort they provided to Ray and to us.

This is the most unorganized place I have ever seen. They do little to nothing to help. Employees are always switched around. The lie to you about what help you are going to get and what they pay for. I'm constantly chasing down meds for my dad. The doctor was told for a month that my dad needed anxiety meds and was up for 4 or 5 days at a time. It took a month to get needed meds prescribed. I called 2 weeks ago to get transport to the dentist, was told that they would arrange it and call me back. It's two weeks later and he still has a broken tooth. Their attitude is that he's dying so they don't care. And, they don't. Told them two weeks ago I needed respite for some work being done on my house. They did not arrange it but told me he would be picked up at 9 a.m. and wasn't. The respite administrator drove to my house to get papers signed at noon. Then Affinity STILL did not have the appropriate paperwork. I'm now dealing with contractors, an invalid, and no help from Affinity. I was begging for a sitter for an hour to go to grocery store. "We don't offer that" but other hospices do. I finally realized I'm in this on my own. Then I was asked why I had not taken advantage of their sitters. 😧 I begged for one and was never offered one. Come to find out, and the administrator who asked this, knew that they did not have volunteers at that location. So, I got gas lit like I'm the one not doing right. The absolute only reason I have kept them this long (and I tried to change, but they promised they'd do better) is because Mary, our CNA, was so good with my dad. Don't expect much. They literally had the means to arrange an ambulance to transport my dad to the dentist, which I was going to pay for, but they wouldn't help with it. They had knowledge that I need respite TWO WEEKS in advance. They didn't handle it. I get 10 bed pads a week. Once, I lost diapers for two weeks because they ordered diapers for a 500 lb man and couldn't reorder. It's always something. It's mostly an inconvenience. You'll never get them to own up to screwing up and they'll take offense when you try to rationalize what they are messing up on because they don't care and don't want to talk to you anyway so they'll find a reason to be insulted. If I was dating a wealthy man who promised me the moon and stars until I married him, then I got lie after lie, he wouldn't take responsibility for his actions, and he caused me more problems than any good, I'd drop him. The same is true with people I do business with. The patients are supposed to be the priority, but they are not. Corporate greed is. Quick to bill Medicare but won't do anything to get things corrected and do right by the patient. They dropped him in my lap, to do all the work, but they get allllll the benefit and do nothing. There are good hospices out there but this is not one of them.
