Privacy Policy

How we protect your privacy and handle your information

Effective Date: September 8, 2026

1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Find Hospices is operated by National Hospice Directory LLC ("Find Hospices," "we," "our," or "us"). This website helps families find hospice care information with confidence and privacy.

  • We collect as little personal information as possible.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
  • We do not sell your personal information. We do not use visitor contact information to market hospice or Trusted Community Resource services to families. We use analytics tools as described in this policy.
  • We believe your focus should be on your loved ones—not worrying about your privacy.

2. Information We Collect

We intentionally collect minimal information, and only for operating the website or responding to inquiries.

2.1 Website Analytics and Measurement

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site and to measure listing performance. These tools may collect information such as:

  • Pages visited and interactions on those pages
  • Approximate location (for example, city or region)
  • Device and browser information
  • Referral source and search terms that brought you to the site
  • Technical identifiers used by Google's analytics tools

Google may process this information under its own terms. Analytics data is used to operate and improve the site and to provide aggregate listing performance reporting to participating providers. We do not sell personal information. We do not share visitor contact details with hospice or Trusted Community Resource providers for their marketing.

2.2 Contact Information (Only If You Provide It)

If you choose to contact us via email or a contact form, we may receive:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your message
  • We use this information only to respond.
  • We do not share it with hospice providers or third parties.
  • We do not add you to a mailing list unless you specifically request it.

2.3 No Collection of Health or Medical Information (No PHI)

  • We do not collect any Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • We do not ask for medical details, diagnoses, symptoms, or treatment history.

Sensitive Health Information

Find Hospices is not a healthcare provider and is not intended to receive protected health information on behalf of a healthcare provider. Please do not submit medical records, diagnoses, treatment information, or other sensitive health information through this website.

2.4 Trusted Community Resource Applications

If you apply for a Trusted Community Resource listing, we may collect application information you submit, including your name, business name, email address, phone number, website, service area, category, specialty tags, optional logo or image, and message content. We use this information only to review applications, communicate with you, process payments, and operate listings if approved. We do not sell this information. We do not share it with other listed providers for marketing purposes. Payment processing is handled by Stripe under its own privacy terms.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Essential site functions (for example, security and session or login where needed)
  • Analytics and measurement through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics

Depending on your browser settings and Google's configuration, analytics tools may set cookies or use similar identifiers. You can control cookies in your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect site functionality.

We do not operate third-party display ad networks on this site. We use Google analytics and measurement tools as described in this policy. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.

4. How We Protect Your Information

We use standard security practices, including:

  • HTTPS encryption
  • Secure hosting providers
  • Limited-access systems

While we strive to protect your information, no method of internet transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Our solution: collect as little information as possible.

5. Provider Information We Display

We display non-personal, publicly available data about hospice providers, including:

  • Names, addresses, phone numbers
  • CMS quality ratings
  • CAHPS survey results
  • Ohio Department of Health licensing information
  • Accreditations
  • Service areas
  • Website links

Sources include:

  • CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services)
  • Ohio Department of Health
  • Provider websites
  • Public directories

This information is already publicly available.

We simply organize it for convenience.

Accuracy Disclaimer

Provider information changes frequently.

We cannot guarantee accuracy or timeliness.

Provider Information Accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate information but do not guarantee that provider information is complete, current, or error-free. Provider information can change between updates, and users should verify important information directly with the provider or applicable government source.

Always verify information directly with the provider.

6. Paid Visibility and Advertising Transparency

Some hospice providers may pay for:

  • Enhanced visibility
  • Featured placement
  • Advertising options

Paid placement:

  • May appear more prominently in the default directory view
  • Does not affect CMS ratings
  • Does not change objective data
  • Does not imply endorsement
  • Does not involve sharing your personal information
  • Does not change results when families sort or filter by quality measures

Paid listing levels (Verified, Featured, or Premium) may appear more prominently in the default directory view. Payment never changes CMS ratings, CAHPS scores, licensing information, public reviews, or results when families sort or filter by quality measures. Paid placement is not an endorsement or recommendation.

We do not receive referral fees or compensation tied to patient admissions.

Participating providers may receive aggregate performance metrics for their own listing (for example, profile views and clicks on call, email, or website buttons). We do not provide providers with family names, emails, phone numbers, or other contact details collected from website visitors for marketing or lead generation.

Trusted Community Resources — Funeral homes, cremation providers, and elder law and estate planning attorneys purchase paid informational listings in our Trusted Community Resources section. Those listings are separate from hospice directory data, are paid advertising for informational purposes only, and do not imply endorsement. We do not share visitors' personal information with listed providers for marketing purposes. We do not accept referral fees tied to hospice admissions or the selection of funeral, cremation, elder law, or estate planning services. We may share aggregate performance information, such as profile views or clicks, with participating providers.

7. Third-Party Services

We may use reputable service providers for:

  • Website hosting
  • Analytics
  • Site maintenance
  • Email functionality

These providers may process technical or analytics data as necessary to operate the site and provide measurement services. Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager are used as described in Section 2.1.

We do not sell personal information to service providers.

8. Prohibited Automated Data Collection

To protect our content and provider directory:

You may not scrape, crawl, harvest, or use automated tools or bots to collect data from our website.

This is strictly prohibited.

9. Children's Privacy

This website is intended for adults seeking information about hospice care.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

If a child provides information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Data Retention

Because we collect very little information:

  • Email inquiries are retained only as long as necessary to respond
  • Analytics data is retained by us and our analytics providers for aggregate reporting and site improvement
  • We delete personal information at our discretion after the purpose is fulfilled
  • We maintain no long-term user profiles.

11. Your Rights and Choices

You may:

  • Request what personal data we have about you
  • Request deletion or correction of your information
  • Opt out of any communication
  • Control cookies via browser settings

Contact us using the information in Section 14 to exercise these rights.

12. International Users

This Service is intended for U.S. users only.

By using the Service, you consent to the processing of your information in the United States.

We do not target or solicit users in the European Union or other jurisdictions with international privacy laws (e.g., GDPR).

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy periodically.

We will update the Effective Date at the top of this page when changes occur.

If changes are material, we may post a notice or contact you directly (if we have your email).
