Recently my grandmother passed away after being on hospice. We were astounded at some of the things we dealt with, with Encompass. One of the ladies in the office Kelly, was horrible! She had no compassion, no empathy, and in my opinion should not be in this line of work. At one point when my grandmother began to not be able to swallow (which they had warned us and expected) we had to wait over 12 hours for morphine, that whole time she was in pain, that is totally unacceptable! Now, dealing with grief and the million other things that has to be done, my aunt is also waiting on death certificates two weeks later, all because the doctor doesn’t have “the time” to sign it. The only reason I gave them two stars is because of the nurses, social worker and chaplain, they were the best! BUT if you want your loved one to have true care, consistency, and not be in pain for over 12 hours, I would definitely chose another hospice!

Families often have questions beyond hospice care — estate planning, elder law, funeral planning, and more. Placements are limited and selective — we review applications and only accept organizations that meet our standards for this section. Listings are paid advertising, not recommendations or endorsements. Families review the information and choose professionals for themselves.
