About Gentiva - Forrest City

Gentiva - Forrest City is the Forrest City office families turn to when hospice care needs to happen at home. A nurse, an aide, and a social worker visit the house. They help with comfort, medicines, and the practical questions that come up in a hard week. Care from this office is for families in Crittenden, Cross, Greene, Lee, Mississippi, Monroe, Phillips, Poinsett, St. Francis, and Woodruff counties. This hospice program has served families since 1989. A family in Forrest City can ask the office how care starts and what the team will do in the home. The Paragould office on Linwood Drive is part of this same program.

It would be very very helpful, if when a loved ones health is declining and they have to be in the hospital and/or nursing facility OR even being cared for AT HOME…..If Hospice education could be introduced in the BEGINNING to that hurting, scared, stressed family. OHHHHH the comfort in being educated about that scary 7 letter word you will be thankful. HOSPICE, is a hurtful/scary word to hear when you have never had anyone to actually take the time & sit down with you & explain what HOSPICE is TRULY all about. I thank GOD that during this difficult time & that ONCE hurtful/scary word was said to me. GOD placed Mrs. Taylor Davis, RN, HCC in our lives. Mrs. Taylor sat with my family & I, she explained how hospice TRULY helps our love one & the family. Hospice is not “We have given up hope” like we think (now for us THOUGHT..Thank you, Mrs. Taylor). We all WILL have to leave this earth one day. Get truly educated on what hospice is really all about. Just because a loved one is placed with hospice does not mean life is over. Some people have actually recovered after being in Hospice. Hospice is extra care for our loved ones. After Mrs. Taylor talked with my husband and I, we are adding the talk about hospice to our family life choices in case that is a word said to them. We can now explain it to others. GET EDUCATED ON WHAT HOSPICE IS ABOUT. Hospice is not what a lot of people think it is. GET EDUCATED, GET EDUCATED, GET EDUCATED. Thank you Mrs Taylor, Ms. Brittnay and Gentiva Hospice. GOD is AMAZING!!

As a nurse, caregiver, and family member to several patients who have been cared for by Gentiva I highly recommend them. Hospice is not just end of life care with Gentiva. They are professional and proficient. Care from beginning to end is always about the patient’s needs before anything else and that will always be the leading reason I choose Gentiva hospice and let individuals know my personal experience with them. I can not put into words how much I love and appreciate the care and support they provide patients and their families!

Gentiva Hospice is Forest City cared for my mother-in-law for the last 6 months. The care she received was exceptional. At any time, day or night, someone was available for a consult or to check on her. She loved each nurse, CNA, and chaplain. I will forever be thankful for the way my mother-in-law was treated and respected.

Families often have questions beyond hospice care — estate planning, elder law, funeral planning, and more. Placements are limited and selective — we review applications and only accept organizations that meet our standards for this section. Listings are paid advertising, not recommendations or endorsements. Families review the information and choose professionals for themselves.
