Affinity Care - Sarasota

Affinity Hospice and their staff were the most caring, kind and gentle with the transition. Ken the nurse for my husband was absolutely the most thoughtful, considerate ,amiable, gracious and warmhearted good-natured person. He basically helped and guided us and held our hands thru the whole process. If anyone is ever in need of hospice in Charlotte County, Florida, I would definitely and highly recommend them.

I will NEVER tell anyone to use this hospice. I have never seen anything like this place. My husband was in there care for 4 months and in that time my husband and family were told 3 different times that he was not dying he just needed pain management. The last time I was told that he was not dying was a week before he passes. He had one nurse that he bonded with and they stoped her from coming to see him. The day before he passed I was told that he could NOT have pain meds. Unless he was up and doing something to cause him pain. Are you kidding me? Never, Never , Never would I refer this place. They had no companion except for the nurse they took away. She was awesome with my husband. When he did pass he was on almost no meds . That's not comfort care and it darn sure isn't compassion.

There are not enough words to describe the extraordinary care provided by Nurse Jennifer, Nurse Jessica, and Nurse Jackie. These three women are truly angels walking on this earth. As hospice nurses with Affinity Care of Sarasota who regularly came into our home, their presence brought comfort, peace, and a sense of stability during one of the hardest times of life. They not only cared for the patient with dignity and gentleness, but they also extended the same level of care and attention to me…the caregiver. Every question…no matter how small…was answered with patience and kindness. The way they explained things, prepared the medicines, and made sure everything was clear brought a peace of mind that cannot be overstated. The patient absolutely loved them, and it showed in the way their voices, touch, and conversations lifted his spirits. Their commitment went far beyond the clinical tasks; it was in the way they spoke, the way they listened, and the way they made us feel supported during an incredibly difficult time. Nurse Jennifer, Nurse Jessica, and Nurse Jackie each carried themselves with such grace and dedication that it felt like more than nursing…it felt like a calling. If there is such a thing as the gold standard of hospice care, it is embodied in these three nurses and in the mission of Affinity Care of Sarasota. I will forever be grateful for the comfort, guidance, and compassion they brought into our lives. Absolutely amazing.
