The team from Compassionate Care Hospice was wonderful. Though my Dad had a brief transition, Alex and Melissa expressed care and concern throughout, established rapport, and truly demonstrated that they knew what they were doing and cared about their patients. Melissa was there with me when my father took his last breath. If I ever have to seek out hospice care for a loved one again, I hope to get the same level of service. Thank you to your entire staff and team.
My father was at Winter Haven Hospital suffering with End Stage Cardiomyopathy among other issues. The process to decide on Hospice was a hard one but Cindi was WONDERFUL. She was there to answer questions and to support us. Once we decided to move forward with Hospice it was very easy. They take care of everything from getting the furniture delivered to the house to getting him transported home. Sherry came out to our house once he came home to check him in. I can’t say enough about her. She was so wonderful and it wasn’t all doom and gloom. We laughed, we talked, and we asked questions. The next day we met Sherrelle, his Hospice nurse who spent hours with us getting him set-up with medication, answering questions, ordering medication, etc. We also met Yamaira who was the social worker. Another wonderful soul who took time to sit with us, talk through things, provide information on funeral homes, etc. Sherrelle took our calls multiple times throughout the day with questions and even called before going off shift to check-in. Later that first day, my dad was complaining about his breathing. I called the 24/7 hotline and explained what was going on. They said they would send out a nurse to check on him and unfortunately, as we were on the phone, he passed away. They said someone was on the way. Two minutes later, Sherry, the wonderful Hospice nurse from the night before called and said she was on the way. She arrived and supported us for HOURS. We weren’t prepared for him to go that quickly so we didn’t know what funeral home to call. She told us to take all the time we needed and supported us through everything. She cleaned my dad up, changed his outfit, and allowed us time to say goodbye. She even watched my baby girl while we worked on things. Once we decided on a funeral home, she coordinated transport and stayed with us until my dad was taken away. She never left our side. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Dr. Carlucci who was not only my dad’s doctor in the hospital, but was also his presiding doctor at Hospice. During the struggle to make the transition to Hospice, since we kept missing him in the hospital, he called my mom and I to talk through the transition to Hospice and address all of our concerns. He was wonderful. Very thankful for the care my dad received in the VERY short time he was in Hospice care. They were there to support my dad, but the compassion and love they showed the family was remarkable.
There are not enough words to express, how awesome Compassionate Care Hospice took care of my Fathers needs before passing. Thank you so much Lisa, Jeff, Happy, Jessica, Lacy, and Melissa for all your devotion caring for patients during their time of need. Thank you for taking time out for my needs even though your work schedules were so busy. May God Bless you all
