Emerald Coast Hospice - Panama City

Last weekeekend looked like my 96 yr old Daddy was passing. Called office in Marianna as case manager said to do when she was "off". Took 2 hrs for contact to call. Said she was in Sneads, would need to get dressed, how bad was he. She apparently went by Marianna office, picked up a trainee on the way to us. At 96 and knocking in Heavens door, expected better. What a great experience with Emerald Coast Hospice. Truly caring staff. I have not met all of the nurses that have worked with my mom so I apologize in advance for leaving anyone out of this review. The nurses Melinda, Nikki, and Robyn are the nurses who made a lasting impression for their compassion, soothing and gentle guidance, and humor (Melinda you KNOW it is you I am speaking of). Nikki was the on-call nurse who came out when we just didn’t know what else to do and needed guidance, assurance, and a listening ear. She made mom feel safe and understood when we first needed to call for help. She let my mom express how she was feeling and talked through solutions with her rather than talking at her. Melinda saw mom and the rest of us most often and came in with a ray of sunshine and laughter to uplift mom’s spirits. Jessica is the social worker who came out to help mom and be another listening ear. She exudes grace, kindness and compassion. She is definitely in the right line of work. Conrad is the chaplain who visited with mom and her husband a few times, letting them feel heard, understood, and enjoyed mom’s many stories about life before the big “C”. Other nurses who I met only once but who also showed great kindness and compassion were Robyn and Jackie. Thank you all so much for making mom and her family feel important, loved, and cared for. You all are amazing people! I know she saw other people that I did not meet, and she spoke highly of each and every one of you. Thank you all!

We used Emerald Coast Hospice 7 yrs ago for end of life care for my father. We were able to keep him in his own home and as comfortable as possible for 6 months. The company and staff were so very kind and helped us in every way possible. So, I decided to call on them again this past Nov 2024 for my momma. They were quick to send out a nurse, hospital bed , pain meds and a chaplain. I can't say enough wonderful things about how much they helped me take care of my sweet momma so she was able to die peacefully at home with us there.
