Where do I begin? The facility is clean and the rooms are comfortable, but the staff is what truly matters. I cannot thank you all enough for the care, dedication and support that my Dad and family received. We got to know everyone very well while we basically camped out in Dad's room. The Nurses, CNA's and support staff were amazing. They helped us navigate the waves of grief and all of it's challenges. It takes a special type of person to go into this line of work, but thank God that you do! Lesley, Carol, Carrie, Michelle, Rabiaa, and especially Lisa...we would like to express our gratitude for helping our entire family during the most difficult time our lives.

I had high hopes for Suncoast Empath Hospice. What I got was surface-level compassion, zero urgency, and a devastating outcome. My mother was dismissed when she showed clear signs of a UTI. By the time she received antibiotics, she was already septic. The meds they gave her were meant for an early-stage infection. A dose so low that is was completely ineffective and did nothing. Her PEG tube kept clogging. Her blood sugar dropped. Increased delirium. She was in visible pain. They shrugged. You’re led to believe your loved one will pass peacefully from their illness, but sometimes, it’s not the disease that takes them. It’s neglect. The infection didn’t just kill her. The inaction did. There was nothing holistic about her care. Nothing comforting. Nothing dignified. What I witnessed wasn’t end-of-life support, it was a slow, painful unraveling. Her symptoms were ignored. My voice was dismissed. Her suffering was brushed off until it was too late. Her death certificate says she died from her disease. The truth? She died from a sepsis infection caused by an untreated UTI made worse by inaction, gaslighting, and a complete failure to care. Hospice is supposed to bring peace. What we got was indifference, delay, and silence. I can’t imagine how many families have been quietly failed the same way. If you’re reading this, please advocate fiercely. Trust your gut. Push back. Message me if you need to. I’ll help you understand what steps to take so you can protect your loved one. What they chose not to do was, and still is unforgivable!

Michelle P is such a blessing. I came to her in hopes of getting some help with my grief after my mom passed. I look forward to seeing her every few weeks and she always seems to have the comfort that I need at the perfect time. She's very easy to talk to and be vulnerable around. I don't know what I would do without her. She's truly an asset to Hospice and I'm sure she has helped so many the same way she has helped me!
