VITAS Healthcare - Mount Dora

Hope Howe RN helped me navigate my father’s illness and passing with knowledge, professionalism and kindness. She made us both feel cared for and supported. Her observations led to him feeling more comfortable. We were always grateful when she came through his door. She helped us smile when we were sad or scared. Betty, the Aide who helped my Dad shower was so kind and attentive to his needs. She observed physical signs and let Hope and I know. She was thorough and gentle and made my Dad feel cared for. She patiently convinced him that he would feel better after a shower on days when he was reluctant. She was right. I couldn’t have asked for two better caregivers. Early, the respiratory therapist helped my Dad to feel more comfortable with his breathing. He always brought a smile.

My Mom was entered into Vitas hospice in January this year and recently passed on 21April2026. The care, kindness, compassion, and support that we received was more than I ever expected! On call nurses came without hesitation. Harriet was the home health aide that made such an amazing connection with Mom. Mom’s face just lit up when Harried arrived. Lily her nurse also was so knowledgeable and helpful both to Mom and myself. I don’t know if I could have managed so well without her! France’s, the social worker was so important and knowledgeable throughout the entire time. France’s was so supportive! My gratitude and appreciation cannot truly be expressed enough

My moms care from the team from Mt Dora was the most compassionate and caring individuals I have ever had the privilege of knowing Liliana,RN, Julie, HHA, Letson,Chaplin and Vivian MSW were my Support during such difficult times for me and my 95 year old Dad who was married to my mom for over 75 years. Even the phone staff in the office when they took my calls were so compassionate and helpful. There were several other nurses that came when I called but I can’t remember their names. I want to commend them also for their excellent care given to my mom. May God bless all of these angels and please recognize them for their professionalism and knowledge they gave to us.
