I would like to brag on the lady that is in charge of the intake process. Her Name is Mrs. Gordy and she is wonderful. My dad recently got transitioned into Sacred Journey care and Mrs. Gordy was awesome with the process. She checked in multiple times and made sure to answer all of the thousand questions I had. If there was something she didn't know, she was great about finding out and getting back to me. There was one evening, I had a question way past normal hours. I think it was around 7pm and I called Mrs. Gordy and apologized for it being so late, but she never batted an eye. Insured me that I was not a bother and helped me figure out what I was looking for. We are new to Sacred Journey so I cannot go in depth about their level of care, but when it comes to Mrs. Gordy, she was a rockstar! If the rest of the company is as hard working and cares as much as she does, I am sure it will be a wonderful experience!
Polly and Kay were a Godsend for our dad and for us. Dad was a resident of Westhill Newnan Crossing for 2 years and 7 months. He was under Sacred Journey’s care for 3 months. Had we known we could have engaged their palliative care sooner, we definitely would have, as we felt Dad fell under the radar with the Westhill staff since he was fairly mobile and did not require a ton of care, other than help with dressing and hygiene. Polly texted us updates every time she saw Dad as well as Darcy, the chaplain, who would pray, and sing with him and Kim, the social worker, who would visit and just spend time with Dad. We are very thankful for the whole team. Polly and Kay really shined in the last few weeks of Dad’s life. We cannot speak highly enough of them. Westhill let us down on so many levels (excluding Jennifer, the medtech at Westhill who was fantastic), yet Polly was a steady rock for us and for Dad. In the last few weeks, Dad had fallen twice. Both were after hours or on the weekend, so we had the privilege of meeting Todd. He was also on duty the morning Dad passed away. He cared for Dad that morning with gentleness yet great professionalism, and the dignity and respect that Dad deserved, even covering him with a United States flag, as Dad was a Marine Corps veteran. Our “journey” with Sacred Journey, if you will, started as the idea of an extra set of eyes on Dad. It turned into so very much more. We could not imagine Dad’s last week or two without you guys. Thank you Sacred Journey. Thank you all who cared and loved on Dad.
The team of Brittany and Keisha G. Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA) works cooperatively to provide the care and support of our love one during this challenging time. Together they are able to not only fulfill basic needs, but the go beyond with a caring spirit.
