About Mesilla Valley Hospice

Mesilla Valley Hospice is a nonprofit in Las Cruces and has cared for people at home since 1984. Nurses come to the house in Doña Ana County and focus on pain and other symptoms, so someone can stay in a familiar place. When home cannot support that care, the hospice has an inpatient house at 299 Montana Avenue, on the same campus. The stay is the 12 rooms there. La Posada, also on that campus, is the assisted living and has its own entrance. It is not the hospice stay. Bereavement support remains open to the family after a death. A family in Alamogordo should call before counting on a visit from Las Cruces.

Hello! I’m writing a review about this place! My grandpa was here for only 2 days sadly… he passed away on July 8th 2026, he was very sick, so my mom couldn’t take care of him, it was going to be hard for us, so they decided to put him in hospice, this place is very nice!, id do anything to thank them! They staff was very nice! They told us, we also care about our guess and patient, and gave us waters! Which was really nice! I also like how they treated my grandpa they made him comfortable! And gave him pain medicines for him, I really thank you guys for being nice and very kind to my grandpa I would totally recommend you guys to other people and there after is good cause they only had a little bit of patients! So thanks for all of this

This is one of the most peaceful places - really beautiful, clean place. My dad had been declining in a hospital for a few weeks before getting his diagnosis and coming here about a month ago. He was only in hospice for 2 days. As soon as he got here, he was immediately cleaned up, was given proper painkillers and was made completely comfortable in a warm bed. The staff was highly competent, compassionate, friendly, and respectful - they did a great job, regularly checking to make sure he was clean and comfortable. They were very kind and sympathetic to me as well. After weeks of hospital chaos, my dad and I got to watch/listen to TV together here in peace, quiet and comfort like being back at home. He passed away peacefully in his sleep, with dignity and no pain. I really appreciate those last 2 days and everything the nurses and staff did for my dad. Thanks and God Bless.

Our little brother was blessed to be a patient of Mesilla Valley Hospice for 2 and half months both being at home care and in- patient facility for 12 days. Then the staff respected his wishes and allowed him to go home and finally again admitted him for 26 days until the end. The staff was amazing in every way. We will forever be thankful and grateful from the bottom of our hearts for taking such good care of our little brother “ Victor” with respect and dignity until his last breath. We stayed by his side day and night and the staff always made us feel like home, by allowing his family to be by his side. Nurses, CNAs, Social workers, Chaplain and even volunteers were all extra nice and compassionate all the way. Who can even forget “ Bailey” the beautiful dog that visited our brother as well. Words are not enough to express how we feel about all the staff at Mesilla Valley Hospice. God bless each one of you and keep doing an amazing job. We salute you and we will never forget you. For ever grateful: Elena, Norma and Adolfo jr
