Experience considered extremely poor; especially, in the area of communication. Staff did not/does not interact via telephone (I live miles away from patient's location) to update me regarding status of patient and what steps to take after transitioning. Social worker claims nurse called today yet my phone log does not show this call. Afterwards I tried calling the on-duty nurse and had to leave a message with no return call. Very very poor communication throughout. NOTE: POSTER'S NAME IS NOT LONDON. DON'T KNOW WHY IT APPEARED AS SUCH.

Bella Hospice Care of Dayton took care of my father in law. They provided excellent care to him the entire time he was on hospice. They brought him his favorite Mexican dinner for his birthday, and made arrangements and took him to the Air Force Museum. Nurse Kelli and Aide Leticia, were more than caregivers, they became family, and we cannot thank them enough for the compassion and care they provided.

My father was on bella hospice for 3 years. His regular nurse kelly was awesome and his aide latisha was great. But the problem came when he began to transition. First off there was no bedside presence by bella staff. No daily nurse visits. On the day he was actively dying he got a nurse visit by Valarie who left him uncomfortable panting for breath telling us to give his medication every hour as needed. Which it clearly not working for him. Then his regular nurse came on her day off to get him comfortable. Then almost every staff came to sit with him so could be present. Then the night shift nurse called and said did he really need a visit tonight. She called at 515 pm. He took his last breath at 510 pm. She told us that if he was comfortable then that would inconvenience her other pts. Her name was Kayla. Very rude and un professional. Not the supportive loving care from a hospice.
