My name is Laura Silette Ferrero and I am extremely disappointed and disheartened with the experience that my family had with CHP home care and hospice. My mother was in long term care , and she was supposed to be receiving services for hospice throughout the entirety of her enrollment into the program. No one from hospice ever communicated with me in regards to the care for my mother or any information that they had about my mom's progress or decline. On Saturday May 23 2026, I received a call from the LTC nurse at the facility saying that my mom was declining and that they had reached out to hospice 3 times during the morning, who never responded. Granted, it was a Saturday, but generally, hospice agencies have an on call nurse. My impression of hospice was that they should be there with the family through the entirety of a person's end of life process , providing counseling, guidance , enpathy, and general emotional support to the loved ones, such as family members and friends. However, not one single person from hospice came in to see the family or my mom during the entire time that my mom was getting ready to pass away. No minister, no priest, no clergyman came to read my mom her last rites. I am extremely disappointed and angry that nobody came in to offer support until 2 hours after my mom passed away. When the nurse came in, She was like "oh I see your mom has her fingernails painted" and tried to say a funny story about my mom , which was very disrespectful and incredibly inappropriate. I would never ever recommend using this agency for hospice services. No one from hospice has called our family to offer their condolences or sympathies , either. I'd really like to provide Medicare with information regarding their lack of services provided to my mom so they couldn't bill my mom's insurance. They totally missed the mark on this one.

After the passing of my grandfather I was told to go home and grieve and that everything would be planned the next day. To my surprise 2 hours later I was called and told that I had 1 hour to find someplace to store my grandfather’s corpse. 100% lack of management, empathy, and accountability on their end.
