While my mother was visiting my sister in Tuscaloosa, Oasis was on contract with our local hospice group in Pensacola. My Mother became very ill during her visit and we had to call on hospice for a home visit. We were told there was only ONE nurse on call for Tuscaloosa area and she was at a patient's house so they contacted Birmingham to send a nurse for the home visit/assessment. When my sister spoke to her, she told me sister"tiu may jsit want to take her to the ER because we are not equipped to do a urinalysis on a patient on the weekend. Arentiubfeikng kidding me! That "nurse". Allison totally broke the contract by refusing to do her damn job as a hospice nurse!! My sister ultimately had to call parametics to take her to the ER. She was diagnosed with a uti and pneumonia and the trip the the er should not have ahd to be done had Allison done her damn job!! She has no business being a nurse or caring for people!! The trip was very exhausting and traumatic for my 83yr old Mother and I have filed a formal complaint with the Alabama Board of Nursing.
Oasis Hospice helped my family during a very trying year due to the unfortunate loss of 3 family members in 2023. In each situation our loved ones received excellent care and the staff was so loving and kind. The clinical staff and extended team not only took care of our loved ones, they also provided the guidance needed in working through a difficult time with our family. We were truly blessed to have Oasis Hospice in each situation and would highly recommend them to any family in need of hospice services.
Oasis Hospice is an excellent choice for hospice care. They cared for a dear friend of mine in his last days. Their kindness, compassion and professionalism were above and beyond.
