I have had a horrible experience with a Rude Hateful Nurse Jessica. Hateful new Charge Nurse Allison, no compassion at all. When Scott charge nurse was there it went great! Soon as he left it went bad. The new staff Going behind my back making changes, As I am Poa over my father & Yelling at me when I didn't agree on medicine changes per my dad's Primary dr. They have made it so difficult & has caused so much tension. I would never recommend this hospice co located out of Alabaster Al. I have never been treated so poorly. We lost my mom a year ago & this is no way to treat family that is trying to take care of my dad. They are taking advantage of my dad. They want that Paycheck.

Around the last week of March 2026, SCNB gave me 2 day's notice before discharging my from hospice care. At that time, my 87 year old mother lived in a nursing home in Columbiana (that particular nursing home is a hell scape and I discharged my mother for suspicions of neglect and abuse) and was still recovering from pneumonia and weighed 100 pounds. The manager Alison Moore (who is probably gone by now) told me that my mother no longer met Medicare criteria, but if my mother lost 10% of her current weight or came down with another infection, Dr. Bullard (their medical director who knowingly submitted "inaccurate" and cherry picked records to Medicare to support their claim that mama no longer qualified" would "consider" reevaluating her. My response was, "You do realize that if she loses 10% of her current weight, she'll be dead?" Alison's suggestion was to call another hospice to find out if they will take my mother. Since then I have made several written requests for a full set of my mother's records, and they refuse to give them to me. Hopefully this review will motivate them to give me what I asked for and am entitled to. In the meantime, I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Medicare and the Alabama Department of Public Health come knocking in response to my complaints.

I had watched my sweet mother suffer in pain for years. When her meds stopped working, I was at a loss as to how to help her. I knew that it was time where we both needed help. My sister and I decided that she needed hospice and we called in Southern Care. From beginning to end they were all amazing and we couldn’t have chosen a better company. I would like to thank: Joanna Malia Madison Kim Scott And all those who helped deliver supplies and food!! Although we will miss our mother dearly, It’s with Great sorrow, but also with peace and comfort to know she is now with Jesus and is free of pain!! We love you mom❤️
