My mother-in law was admitted to Southern Care a year ago last April and received care until this passed May. Our nurse, aid and case worker were amazing. This was one of the hardest years of my life. Our nurse and aid really helped me get through it all. There were days I questioned if the care I was giving my mother-in law was enough but they'd show up and help me with anything and everything. I know my mother in- law enjoyed seeing them, too. I really couldn't have navigated through that journey without them. The love and care they gave my mother-in law was unmatched. They weren't just there for her but me, too. I will forever call them my angels. Even though we experienced a great loss, these people became my family and touched my life with such a huge impact. I'm forever grateful. Thank you Kim, Shamoka, Elizabeth and the rest of the team.

As a client, I feel compelled to speak up. Hospice is one of the most vulnerable times in a person’s life, and the employee who cared for us showed true compassion, patience, and dignity when we needed it most. They treated our loved one like family, not a task, and that meant everything to us. Learning that this employee was terminated was heartbreaking and honestly disturbing. From what we witnessed firsthand, this person was doing exactly what hospice care should look like—showing up with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. Losing someone like that affects families and patients far more than management may realize. Hospice is not just about policies and procedures; it is about humanity. When a company lets go of caregivers who clearly lead with heart, it raises serious concerns about priorities and leadership. Our trust in this company was deeply shaken by this decision. Families considering hospice services should pay close attention to how caregivers are treated, because it directly impacts the quality of care your loved one receives.
