About Gentiva - Russellville

Gentiva - Russellville is the Russellville office families turn to when hospice care needs to happen at home. A nurse, an aide, and a social worker visit the house. They help with comfort, medicines, and the practical questions that come up in a hard week. Care from this office is for families in Conway, Johnson, Logan, Perry, Pope, Scott, and Yell counties. This hospice program has served families since 1992. A family in Russellville can ask the office how care starts and what the team will do in the home. The Russellville team comes to the home rather than asking the family to manage the hard days alone.

I struggled with leaving a one star review. But the truth is, I have never felt more isolated and dismissed as a solo. Caregiver with a loved one handling an overwhelmingly awful diagnosis then after one week of dealing with this company and there’s sister site in Conway. It’s left me with quite the awful feeling and I know there is a way for you to do your job without making a family go through that. So that’s what the one star is for, just lack of compassion and empathy, or if they have it it’s for someone else other than me or my family. It makes me less likely to except any help in the future because I think it’ll have devastating consequences.

Our experience with Gentiva and it's employees was priceless to our family. Our mom did not want to ho into a nursing home, so we decided to have her live with us. All the hospice staff made their first visit within days, they were able to immediately get us a bed and everything else needed, and they eased all our concerns. Unfortunately, our mom died a month into service. Monica was her Aide and she not only bathed her, but took time to listen to her talk and comfort her. Kelli, her nurse, was just an amazing person. She came at the drop of a hat to get her meds or whatever was needed. The day mom passed, Kelli took care of everything; allowing the family to grieve. She made sure that time was allowed for distant family to say last goodbyes. She even checked in us later in the week to ensure nothing was needed. She was not only their for our mom, but made us feel confident when things were hard and offered us reassurance as we went through the process. I can't say enough for Gentiva and their staff.

Families often have questions beyond hospice care — estate planning, elder law, funeral planning, and more. Placements are limited and selective — we review applications and only accept organizations that meet our standards for this section. Listings are paid advertising, not recommendations or endorsements. Families review the information and choose professionals for themselves.
