I called Good Shepherd at 1am during a very traumatic night of trying to get ICU staff to properly medicate my father for “comfort measures” which were ordered. They answered my call, listened to my concerns, offered emotional support, and dispatched a rep that night. We signed paperwork first thing in the morning and my father was transferred within hours. Walking into his room at the hospice house allowed me to breathe again: he was finally comfortable and peaceful, Dr. Christiano (I hope I spelled that correctly) was compassionate and informative, all the staff were very kind to our family and ensured my dad was well cared for. Losing someone close is an awful experience (no matter how “prepared” you think you are - I provide hospice care for others) but Good Shepherd Hospice House in Lakeland made the process a little less difficult by providing amazing care and support. Though I am still processing much of the past few weeks, I know I will be forever grateful for the wonderful individuals I was blessed to have helping our entire family around the clock. 💕 To those who cared for Scott Lang: Thank you all so much; I truly don’t know what I would have done without you.

I can’t say enough good things about the Greater Shepherd Hospice House in Lakeland. From the moment my family and I arrived, we were met with such compassion, professionalism, and genuine care. The facility itself was beautiful and peaceful—clean, calm, and truly designed to bring comfort during one of life’s hardest times. Every single nurse and staff member showed so much heart, but I especially want to recognize Jerry and Jodi. Jerry was amazing—kind, patient, and always there when we needed her. But Jodi… she was honestly the best nurse I’ve ever encountered, for anything, ever. She went above and beyond for my mother, treating her with such gentleness and dignity. She was equally attentive to our whole family, making sure we understood everything and never felt alone. All of the other nurses were also wonderful—caring, compassionate, and truly dedicated to making sure my mom was never in pain and always comfortable. If you’re facing the difficult decision of hospice care for a loved one, you can feel confident choosing this place. They cared for my mother like she was their own family, and I will be forever grateful.
