My mother passed away yesterday. I do not recommend this company. No one was at our home to offer guidance when we brought her home. It was a very scary and unsettling feeling. Comfort Medication was not there. Our primary nurse failed to show or even call on the day she was scheduled. This company added a level of distress that I didn’t even realize was possible. I am so heartbroken. Please talk to friends early and get actual recommendations from companies they have used that are good. It’s so overwhelming in the hospital to make these decisions and you won’t have time to research in that moment
I can't say enough about the pink team. Candice our nurse Marie, Debra, Kay, Russ NP, and Chaplain Vern and all triage nurses. They were always there for any calls and needs I had caring for my husband Anthony. I was able to be with him when he peacefully passed at home. Thank you all for your wonderful care and support. Forever grateful.❤️
If I could give 0 stars, I would ...I wish I could give negative stars. Every step of this had been an absolute nightmare and horror story! My mother has a stroke due to high blood pressure. She was also in a state of advanced dementia. She started getting better but then quickly started to decline. Nikki with LifePath Hospice came to the Rehab facility to do the admission, but was very impatient and left before the doctor could discuss medications that were needed post rehabilitation... She had another patient to see. My mother was discharged from the rehab facility Thursday 19 June 2025. She was brought back to our house to be cared for by us, the family. We weren't given any care information or any of the medication she needed upon returning home. They did not have her medications ready, which we had to repeatedly call and paid for it off pocket. She was discharged on a Thursday, and was advised that the "Sapphire Team Nurse" would be in touch to schedule regular visits and tend to or needs/questions. We figured, she came home Thursday evening, so we should expect to see this nurse on Friday. No, that DID NOT HAPPEN. My dad, REPEATEDLY, called the 24 hour number because my mother was so distressed and filled with venom and rage (suspected UTI).They never gave us any supplies like wipes, briefs/diapers, disposable chucks, etc. We had to buy this stuff! This was to be provided by hospice. The finally had some sent out to our house Saturday. Saturday, a nurse came out & we advised him of the foul smell of my mother's urine. He said, no, it's just concentrated. Keep in mind, I thought, the previous neurologist advised of a possible infection. Saturday evening, my Dad called the 24 hour number again, & we got this lovely gentleman nurse but he name of Michael. He got us a prescription to calm my mother down & get her to sleep & advised on how to administer this medication (as she is lashing out & being violent) making it into a paste & giving to her in a syringe in her cheek.. That helped about 5 hours. My mother, who, again, is in advanced dementia and survived a hemorrhagic stroke, stayed violent & delirious for the most part. Sunday, she was pretty calm in the morning, but after about 4pm (sundowning began) she was impossible to control and keep safe (she kicked my knee laterally (which is still hurting), and apparently in the state of Florida, having 4 bed rails (2 at the head and 2 at the feet) is against the law as it's "confining". The caregivers safety and patients safety apparemtly doesn't matter. My dad & I were up with her all night. She was up all night going off, being extremely violent, stripped down naked, pulled her pull up briefs off, & was up must of the night. (Care/comfort/dignity, right?) Monday, the "Sapphire Nurse" FINALLY came (he was great), & advised that he should have been called out to our home FRIDAY, realized that we were in dire straits & called the hospice house to immediately get her in to help with the severe irritability. I was able to show him my mother's latest toileting & he agreed it was a UTI. He had the hospice house pick my mother up & bring her to the facility. Now, knowing our concerns for UTI, we were advised that the doctor would be In "tomorrow" 06.24.25, to see her. Their idea of controlling her & making her comfortable was to give her morphine, subcutaneously, because she won't tolerate IV's. This whole ordeal has been a nightmare and we were advised from the TGH Rehab facility that, "this is one of the better ones!" Are you kidding me?! While some of the "contracted nurses" have been phenomenal, this home hospice care has been an absolute incompetent nightmare for us and my mother. My mother was violent and screaming out... That's far from comfort and care and DIGNITY! My father and I had no time to research any other care and trusted the advise of the TGH case manager. Do your research before selecting care for your loved ones. We didn't get that opportunity & we are paying the price for it! I believe they sped up my mother's EOL!
