The way they were able to guide us through the whole process was amazing. Also the way they help me deal with the fact that my father was going to pass away. Was really good and conditioning myself for him to leave us. Which I am grateful for.

I would give less than 1 star but are not given that option. Mederi Hospice was aware of my husband’s transport home from Moffitt. I called them several times on transport ride home so they would be aware of our arrival time to our home. They were supposed to be at house with meds and oxygen. They were not. I had to call 911 do that they could help with the oxygen needs. They were kind enough to leave a tank when made aware of the situation. The nurse finally arrived and we were educated on meds and frequency of. My husband was in total distress with pain by this time. Finally he was able to get some relief. We were told another nurse would come later on- early morning hours timeframe. When she arrived I expressed my concern of the very hard breathing as well as gurgling we had been hearing. I ask her to please explain what was happening. She said he was tired and we should let him rest but because he had a very faint moan suggested we give another dose of morphine and try to wake him around noon. It was approx 2 am at this time. I stressed again my desire to speak with him one last time. His blood pressure was also 60/40. Sheraton instructed us to medicate. We did. She remained for a very short period of time. Within a few minutes of her leaving we noticed our loved one was not breathing. We were frantic- we grabbed a stethoscope and confirmed. When we spoke with the agency the next day we were told that the nurse who was there lady went out to her car and notified the agency that he was actively dying- yet said nothing to us and above all-LEFT OUR HOME!!!!Are you kidding me. When I escalated the call we were apologized to and told it was a “learning experience”. They were sorry. They totally took away our chance to have a peaceful passing. Everything they promised on the front end never happened. I would not recommend this particular chapter/ group to anyone. It was the worse experience of our lives.

After 3 years of being the primary caregiver/life manager for my mother with late stage Alzheimer's, a family friend suggested I look into hospice evaluation for "quality of life" assistance. Upon running the request by her primary and connecting with Mederi, the support was game changing. The staff at Mederi was lightening fast in getting her evaluated and set up. Communication was straight forward and succinct. Equipment ordered and delivered efficiently as possible. Medication changes and orders were same day. The efficient fluidity of the entire process and patient guidance from the staff was the helping hand I so desperately needed. Thank you Jessica, Victoria, Ayanna, Rich, Lindsey and Mary for not only being your incredibly organized selves but for also the genuine kindness, compassion, emotional/physical support, and repeatedly going above and beyond to ensure my mom received the best care during her tragic journey with Alzheimer's. It is difficult to put into words just how deeply I respect and appreciate you for all that you do for people like my mom and I. -NJ
