Never use this company located in Daytona Beach, FL 😡 They are a hospice care company which I recommended to my family for the care of my sister. First they forgot to have her home husband sign the DNR before leaving the hospital so all the services they completed in the home for 6 full days were illegal. On the 7th day we called the emergency number given in the folder of information they provided. First we were told she was not in they system. Repeatedly asking for her date of birth about 7 times "I looking all over our system for her", he said. All while my sister is having great difficulty breathing making an awful noise attempting to gasp for air. After a long 15 minutes with no instructions on what to do or how to help my sister, he finally states, "ok I see her here, I will get someone out there right away and someone will call you". After another very long 15 or 20 minutes after we just could not take her suffering and struggling to breath, we called 911. It was not until we arrived to the hospital that we were told the would do aggressive suctioning to clear her airway only because the DNR was never signed. We were at the hospital til the next morning and still no one had called from Vitas. Vitas never called to find out what was my sister's condition, Vitas never came to the home, Vitas never called to offer an apology, Vitas never came to the bedside to explain what the problem was, VITAS JUST SUCKS!!! DO NOT ENTRUST THIS PARIAH OF A COMPANY WITH THE CARE OF YOUR LOVED ONES!!!!! They are operating on the reputation of what they once were in the past. Vitas is not the caring company of years ago. I really wish she I could leave zero stars. 🤬😡🤬😡🤬😡😤🤬😤🤬😤🤬
I am writing on behalf of my beloved brother Andrew Pandolfi who passed away this Saturday. I would like to thank you for all for being so wonderful with my brother. I would especially like to thank his hospice nurse, Daniel. Daniel went above and beyond for Andrew, he even brought him to church on his free time. He knew Andrew needed connection with God, as he was so depressed and fearful of dying. I asked him last week to bring in some people from the church to pray for him, and once again Daniel went on his free time to do that. He also went after work hours the night before Andrew passed and prayed with him.His care was excellent. I know Andrew went peacefully and Daniel played a major roll in that. He was so great with him and myself. There were some" issues" with his girlfriend who sadly tried to get Daniel to not give me information, Daniel handled it with professionalism and stayed neutral. Having a previous healthcare background, I just want to say that Vita's is so lucky to have such an amazing nurse working for you. We are so grateful to Daniel for always being informative and supportive to Andrew and us throughout this difficult time. I would also like to thank all the the nurse's, chaplain's, nurses aides, receptionist's and Dr. Litman for you're excellent care. We are eternally grateful for you.
My mother had to go in hospice recently. It was a first time experience for me, of course. Even through an emotional and heart-breaking time, all of the staff, from top to bottom, were professional, compassionate and empathetic. From the chaplain, the social worker, the nurses, aides, the drivers that brought the equipment to her house and the secretary, I couldn’t have asked for a better company and group of people to help guide me through the process and to help take care of my mother in her last days. I would highly recommend Vitas to anyone that has a loved one needing hospice service. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Vitas!
