What a scary time as I stood by my wife for the last year as a caregiver knowing that there would be a next step in our journey. We found ourselves here in Florida a home away from home with lots of support from friends . But the time was coming into our future and that was the scary part, the unknown. Our doctor suggested VITAS and that very same day Sheldon from administrations came out to visit and did a wonderful job at answering questions. We were still doing very well but I knew one day it was going to change. It may have seemed to early but the care and comfort made a big difference in our day. Knowing that things had been put in place was great. Our endings are probably the same result but the care on that path was much easier. From Cathy with C the team leader , Janae our nurse ( the best) and Martine the Social worker a beautiful person we like to that you all for a peaceful path. We pray for you all that you remain strong for the ones that can't. Dean

Words can't express my gratitude for the Vitas staff. As the primary caregiver for my best friend, I was blessed to have her nurse Lourdes with her outstanding treatment & care. And Lori, her Chaplin that came to see her weekly & who is still in touch with me a week later was just a blessing that I didn't realize. The nurse that came the night of her passing was an immense comfort for me as well. Yuliette the social worker made everything so easy. To all the other nurses & triage thank you as well. May God bless you all!

I can’t say enough good things about these people. My father was dying many states away and the Vitas team was so good at keeping me in the loop with his care and how he was doing. The feeling that he was in good hands helped me so much during a difficult time. I am very grateful to these compassionate people for helping my father to die with dignity.

Families often have questions beyond hospice care — estate planning, elder law, funeral planning, and more. Placements are limited and selective — we review applications and only accept organizations that meet our standards for this section. Listings are paid advertising, not recommendations or endorsements. Families review the information and choose professionals for themselves.
