VITAS Healthcare - Miami

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to VITAS Healthcare, and especially to Susel Cruz. She cared for my father‑in‑law at home for several months, always with professionalism, respect, and a warm smile. She joked with him, lifted his spirits, and became a true ray of sunshine for him and for all of us. No matter when I reached out, she always responded and made sure he had the support he needed. Her guidance and compassion were invaluable during such a difficult time. Thank you, Susel, for your exceptional dedication and professionalism.

My mom was with Vitas for almost two years. She had the best care we could have ask for. They bécame part of our family and i thank God for them. Couldn’t have done it without them. My mom passed and I’m at peace cause she was loved and care for by the best. Thank you and keep forward with your professional care.

The in-house hospice care was awful. The nurses fell asleep while they were working. The nurse that was on duty while my mother was passing away did not even know how much medicine she needed to give her. She saw my mother suffering with pain in her bed and she did nothing. We had to tell her several times to give the medicine, and finally she did it just to keep us quiet. She gave her two full doses of the medicine when the last nurse had told us it was supposed to be done in little amounts. After giving the medicine, the nurse sat down, closed her eyes, and prepared herself to fall asleep again. My mother passed away 10 minutes after that. We discussed the case with Vitas. Since we did not record or have proof of the nurse’s behavior, there is nothing much to do. (Sorry for not being aware that I have to be recording the awful behavior of your employees while my mother was passing away.) This is the worst thing happened to us, but it is not only thing. Several times when we needed them Vitas nurses did not show up at all, they were disorganized, arrived in times where we did not scheduled and unprofessional. It is beyond disgusting that I have to write a review to let other people know what happened to us. No other families should have to endure what we went through.
