a patient and friend of mine was admitted to vita hospice and several times I called and it took 4 times to get someone to answer the call. when I visited my friend and the patient, who should have not been in hospice and was admitted wrongly to vitas hospice by a admitting nurse on a holiday and patient signed on with them and was told she was going to have physical therapy and that did not happen and she was bedridden for two weeks in Hospice. she lost her ability to ambulate and the nurses stated that they do not do physical therapy there. They her for hours without changing her and bathing her. She complained of the bed being very rough and we requested to have more air put in the bed but to no avail. Then she wanted ice cream I could not find a nurse and one in the workers room on her phone and said yes, but did not give her the ice cream. Severe miscommunication with case management and no communication at all. To find out that a home health agency was signed by the patient that has eye problems and a POA was signed by the patient and I had to ask the notory to read the POA document's to her. The nurses on the floor were always on their phones or in the office talking to each other. The patient was having severe back pain and I had to find a nurse to give her meds for pain. The Home health agency was convincing the patient to have their services and block out all friends from her home to clean out her home and then change the door locks.

Nurses on floor are never found at Good Samaritan hospital and it takes time for someone to answer the phone at the desk. Admitting nurse to hospice very adamant to admit patients to the hospice ward instead of sending them home with hospice. They take the medicare and the advantage plan is cancelled, most of the nurses and helpers and allied personnel is from the Caribbean.
