I recently chose Gentiva Hospice of Athens to care for my father at the end of his life, and I could not have made a better decision. From the very beginning, their reputation for compassion and professionalism proved absolutely true. From the very first call, the process was fast, efficient, and seamless. I called them in the morning, and within a few hours, my father already had the supplies he needed. I was amazed at how quickly Gentiva Hospice of Athens got everything ready — even before he was brought home in the ambulance. The nurses were truly extraordinary. Their warmth, honesty, and gentleness brought comfort not just to my father, but to me as well. They took attentive care of him, making sure he had the medicine he needed, keeping him comfortable, and treating him with genuine kindness. Because of them, my father did not suffer. He passed peacefully, and I am forever grateful for that. What meant the most to me was how straightforward and caring they were. I always felt informed, supported, and reassured. It was clear that they genuinely cared about my father as a person, not just as a patient. Gentiva Hospice of Athens provided exceptional care during one of the hardest moments of my life. I am deeply grateful to the entire team, and especially to Cheryl Craft, Miranda, and Katiana, for helping my father leave this world with dignity and peace. Phenomenal team, truly caring, delievered nothing but exceptional care. Tina Waller was the best case manager. She listened and assisted way above and beyond what she had to. She communicated very well and we were always informed. Her punctuality was the most helpful in trying to coordinate schedules. Katie Howard the HHA, had the best care. Kind, considerate and understanding. She also communicated to help with the scheduling troubles we had as I worked nights and wanted to be involved in her care. We definitely had the best team. Her last days were comfortable and peaceful. That was our goal and they truly helped us to achieve it.
