Ms. N has been under the hospice program with Compassus for over a year and we wanted to share what that experience has been (hint 5 stars) After being discharged from a month in Rehab, that facility recommended a service that would help us adjust and they were to contact us on the day of discharge. They didn't and our state social worker recommended Compassus who we contacted the very next day. Within hours, their team from different departments placed everything in motion. Nurse visit, new medical bed and clear communications to start to what would be forthcoming. For respect of their privacy, we will not list staff names, but you know who you are! One nurse was referenced in another post and he is no longer there (an amazing person who on a unscheduled visit, just came by to drop off a Mothers Day gift and did the same for Valentines day). The nurse that followed him has also been amazing with her communications when charges occur. The executive office has been a great source of comfort when you need answers on unfamiliar topics regarding the Senior. Additionally we were assigned a person who assists with baths which is invaluable when having a pro do this task to avoid falls and help maintain the Sr. cleanliness. She has a visit every two weeks with a kind Spiritual Advisor and during a chat with their in-house Social Worker, they, without being asked, volunteered to pop in also, every two weeks to sit with the Senior. A gesture I am still amazed by. Mental health while balancing new realities in the care of a senior citizen is a real challenge and we are grateful to have Compassus as part of our team. You folks rock....
Our uncle was on hospice for 2 years. Initially it took a little bit to get a regular RN to care for him. We requested Alejandro, who normally would come out when an on-call service was requested. Alejandro took great care of our uncle! Sometimes RN Sarah would come out when Alejandro wasn't available. These two went above and beyond to help us with everything! I am so grateful that we had such a great team in his finals days. Thank you!
Compassus provided hospice care that far exceeded our expectations, offering our loved one comfort, dignity, and respect in his final days. Before we began services, I understood the basics of hospice and what it can look like in practice. But experiencing Compassus firsthand, I was struck by their attention to detail, thoughtful navigation of family dynamics, and compassion for everyone involved—not only the patient. We’re especially grateful to Charles for patiently helping us put services in place. Miranda, Tina, and Alejandro delivered consistent, attentive nursing care, and Ann supported his daily needs with kindness, respect, and positivity. Their work deserves genuine recognition and should never be taken for granted. Everyone deserves dignity at the end of life, and with Compassus, that commitment clearly guides everything they do. Thank you, Compassus, from our family to yours. Regards, The Colsons
