What Families Are Saying
Most Recent Reviews
The communication is promised but not given. They do whatever they want. I was hoping this one would be better. They like to give lots of morphine without asking and delay care. 😢
Unfortunately, our experience with LilyCare has been negative. Our mom almost died last week from a completely reversible condition. The LilyCare RN’s “assessment” completely missed (or ignored ?) the obvious signs of an infection that was very treatable. For three days, the LilyCare nurse did not do the appropriate assessment and this resulted in my mom’s condition progressing to sepsis. Instead of recognizing the signs and symptoms of an infection, the LilyCare hospice nurse decided that my mom was simply, as she said it to the facility nurse “transitioning to dying”. But LilyCare did not bother to call any one of us on the family contact list. Not a single call. Had it not been for the diligence of the RN at the facility who called and notified me of my mom’s condition and what the hospice nurse said, we would have already lost her. LilyCare was just simply going to let my mom die, actively suffering from a completely reversible condition, while pushing Morphine and Ativan to “make her comfortable”. These medications did NOT in fact help my mom and she was in distress when she was taken to the ED, where she was treated appropriately, while still respecting her DNR status. My mom is now on the road to recovery from the infection. LilyCare Hospice NM has serious staff competency problems. This is not the first time we encountered this issue with LilyCare. But this time, I cannot let it go unknown to anyone who may be looking for hospice care for their family. I would think twice before trusting LilyCare Hospice NM with your loved one.
Well unfortunately I can’t agree with the other reviewers that have posted for this company that coincidentally happen to be employees as well. I just want the public to think carefully before putting your loved one into Lily care hospice. I understand hospice rules of comforting a dying patient but when Lily care was put to the test in having to respond to a patient which was our aunt, our aunt on 10-26-2024 began having a seizure at 1:32pm the nursing facility where she was at could not administer any type of care because of Lily care hospice had informed them to give morphine only and that a on call nurse from Lily care hospice would be there at the facility in 40 minutes well 40 minutes turned into 4 hours by that time the on call nurse showed up 3 minutes after we called an ambulance by then the patient was blue and foaming at the mouth and unresponsive. Lily care you mishandled this entire situation you basically killed our aunt and there was nothing comforting about what we saw our aunt a living breathing human being endure for four hours having a seizure without care and comfort as so those are the words used by Lily care hospice, and to make things worse no one from Lily care ever called the family to notify us of what was going on if it hadn’t been for the family to routinely visit the patient around at 1:50 pm on that day to find our aunt seizing we wouldn’t have known anything. The doctor at the hospital gave us very grim news the doctor stated that the hospital couldn’t do anything for her other than put her on a ventilator but because she was under hospice care it would be best for the patient to be put under palliative care the doctor also explained to us had she been seen earlier in the hospital more could’ve been done for her medically but because she had a seizure for 4 hours without any type of seizure medication administered and just only given morphine was a dangerous situation for any patient of any age to endure. From day one to the last final day Lily care hospice was the wrong hospice company to use, because of your type of care and comfort today we are now planning a funeral that yes eventually was coming around but not in the way you left our loved one seizing for four hours to die a slow punishing death even a veterinarian using euthanasia on a animal treats an animal more humanly then you did to our aunt, and last but not least we as the family requested for the chaplain since it was offered as a service provided to dying patients by Lily care hospice to come to her for prayer we were originally told that the chaplain would come out to her while she was laying in bed actively dying on 11-3-2024 at 3pm because the chaplain was busy with a meeting so we said fine but to our surprise we received a phone call from the chaplain around 1pm that day from the chaplain during the phone call he said that he had already visited her.. once again another problem to add to the way Lily care hospice runs this company so we weren’t given the chance to be with her and the chaplain during prayer. The following day on 11-4-2024 our aunt passed away. This was not the way a dying patient should have been comforted through hospice care.
