Cadre Hospice - Ohio

My experience with this hospice company was extremely disappointing and heartbreaking. During one of the most difficult times in my family's life, we trusted this hospice team to provide compassionate, respectful, and professional care for our loved one and it's quite unfortunate that we haven't experienced any of this. The hospice aide, in particular, was so rough while attempting to provide care to my family member that I felt compelled to request that she no longer assist with their bathing. No patient, especially someone receiving hospice services, should be treated in a way that causes discomfort or concern for their family. This is simply unacceptable. What makes this situation even more upsetting is that concerns and complaints did not appear to be taken seriously. Families should never feel ignored when they are advocating for the well-being of their loved ones. I am also deeply disappointed that the facility where my family member resides, as well as its administration, recommends this hospice company so highly. Families often rely on the recommendations of the facility and its leadership when making important decisions about end-of-life care. Because of those recommendations, we trusted that our loved one would receive quality care. Sadly, that trust was misplaced. It is difficult to understand why a company that provides this level of care continues to be promoted so strongly. I am sharing my experience because I do not want other families to go through what we did. Hospice care should provide comfort, dignity, and peace of mind during an incredibly emotional time. Instead, our experience added stress, frustration, and disappointment. Based on what I personally witnessed, I cannot recommend this hospice company and strongly encourage others to carefully research all available options before making a decision.

I have seen that the staff is caring and compassionate about the patients. They go above and beyond to get things done for families and patients and extend themselves far past what I’ve seen any other medical facility do. When families lose a loved one, staff will attend services when they can but will always send cards and check on families. Very caring, professional and compassionate.

The Cadre Hospice team is full of compassionate, dedicated people who truly care for the families they serve. I can’t recommend them enough.
