My Wife was cared for by Crossroads for several months. I changed providers after the first would not keep up with her pain meds. All the staff and supervisors were caring and supportive. They were helpful to both my wife and me. Including helping me process the grief during the course of events. In total she was in their care for about 3 months. During her last month, they were present 24/7.

I cannot recommend crossroads hospice nursing coordination and staff enough. My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 uterine cancer in late May and everything that could go wrong, did go wrong throughout her treatment course. Ultimately, in the last week of her life, she ended up hospitalized after one of her treatments. She was very sick when she was admitted to Cleveland clinic and declining rapidly. As an RN myself, my biggest fear was my mother dying in the hospital and not in the comfort of her own home. As a family, we decided Saturday evening that we wanted to initiate hospice care and get my mom home. We were told by providers that we wouldn’t be able to get a Cleveland clinic hospice consult until Monday, which I feared would’ve been too late. I personally reached out to hospice of the western reserve, who sent me straight to voicemail. Then around 6 o clock, I called crossroads hospice, who immediately did a phone intake and had a nursing coordinator at the hospital by 8pm. The nursing coordinator was fantastic. She was sympathetic, empathetic, and went above and beyond to coordinate our wishes. She was able to coordinate getting my mom transported home that night and a hospice nurse was there evaluating her only a couple hours later. We even had a hospital delivered by the next morning. As a nurse, I’ve truly never seen things work that fast in healthcare. All the nurses were truly wonderful. The aide that came out after my mother died was kind, warm, and thoughtful during such a difficult time. We are so lucky in the worse days of our lives to have had such a wonderful care team. Their response time was always timely and someone was there for whatever we needed. I will forever be grateful for them.

This place is awful currently looking for new care for my mother. The aide that is supposed to come help my mom shower calls off half the time and the other half she just doesn't even show up. She was supposed to come Tuesday and Friday and then changed her days to wed and Friday. Then today she asked my mom if she could just come on Friday when last week she didn't show up or even call. My mom said no and sure enough this girl just didn't even show up. Also two days ago the nurse that was supposed to be there between 11 and 12 never showed up either and only then showed up around 3 AFTER my mom had to call to find out where she was. When asked about what happened the nurses reply was "I had a rough morning". They also sent her the wrong strength prescription and was giving her worthless breathing medication when she has COPD. Something not every patient would be lucky to discover and may have been on that medication long term. If you feel like you want your loved one to be neglected and feel like dealing with an incredibly frustrating situation than this is the place for you. Crossroads expects patients and their families to be more compassionate and understanding about their horrible services than they are about your loved ones.
