My parents moved here from out of state because my mom was becoming too difficult for my dad to take care (advanced Lewy Body dementia). QCH was AMAZING. From Day 1, they were readily available, easy to talk to, always here when needed, very attentive, responsive, communicative, etc. It was a very fast decline in 4 weeks for my mom. Meghan (RN), Missy (social worker), Krista (after-hours RN), and Molly (bedside care at the very end LPN) - they ALL treated my mom with such dignity, care, respect, and love. I honestly don't know what I would have done without them. When I had to be at work and not by my mom's side, and hospice told us that they were now going to do 24 hour bedside vigil, I cried with relief. When my mom passed and Krista came to bathe her body, she did it with such care and respect, it was beautiful to watch. I'm so grateful for each of them. This is what hospice is all about. They did it well.

My experience with Queen City Hospice was absolutely horrible. The first nurse made a false report to their social worker that my mom had multiple dog bites from our 7 month old puppy. A second nurse came the same day they called about the false report and confirmed there were no dog bites. What kind of person would make up a story like that? I told them I was reporting them to the state for this incident and they begged me to stay and give them another chance and told me this nurse was no longer with them. I found out much later that was a lie. At that point I reported them to the state and they were cited twice based on this incident. Before I found out they had lied to me I allowed them to continue with her care and the next nurse wrapped an elbow injury on my mom so many times that it slid up her arm and tightened, causing my mom's entire arm to swell up. My mom was never the same again after this incident. See the photo. They sent a third nurse who wrapped my moms arm with an ace bandage after spending an hour sitting in my living room googling and reading a book on how to care for her arm and you can see in the photo how that turned out. I wanted to leave them sooner than I did but they would never give me all of my moms medical records. They forgot to order her medications multiple times. They sent filthy medical equipment to my house. They gave me inaccurate information. The director was told about everything that was happening and so was the social worker, but instead of trying to get my mom help and correct their mistakes they did things to add additional stress to my family. The reason for the second citation was because the first incident wasn't even discussed in their team meeting on my mom, and things I reported to the director and social worker were never put in my mom's records. The place is unprofessional, incompetent, inconsistent, and dishonest. If you have this agency I would recommend leaving them. If you haven't hired them please find another agency I wish I would have never went with them. If you had a bad experience with them please report it to the state like I did.

Queen City Hospice was MIA during my mom’s final days of life at Harrison Trails, when both her and my family needed them the most. My mother struggled hard during her last few hours with no one there from Queen City Hospice to comfort her or our family. They showed up after no one there for four hours as she was struggling to take her last breath. When they promise 24/7 bedside that is a LIE. I can’t stress enough to NOT let them care for anyone you love. Her name was Lois and she deserved so much better. They failed her.
