About Hospice of the Ozarks

Hospice of the Ozarks is the Mountain Home office families turn to when hospice care needs to happen at home. A nurse, an aide, and a social worker visit the house. They help with comfort, medicines, and the practical questions that come up in a hard week. Care from this office is for families in Baxter and Marion counties. It is a community nonprofit. This hospice program has served families since 1985. When symptoms cannot be managed at home, families can ask about Hospice House. A family in Mountain Home can ask the office how care starts and what the team will do in the home.

My mom is currently in the Hospice House and she's being very well taken care of while I gotta take care of myself. I want to be with her every night and it's so hard to leave her! I cry and they help me deal with it and feed me when Im there and gave me bedding so I could spend the night. Thank you so much for taking care of my mom and our family. You guys are so sweet!

From the 1st moment you treated us with such warmth and respect. You offered not just medical but emotional support as well. You made my brother Peter Schefdore feel cared for and dignified in his final days. I am forever grateful, Kathleen Novy

This is the first time for my family using Hospice of the Ozarks. They were caring compassionate people that took very good care of my mom till the end of her journey. Thank you very much for that. And Blake was wonderful he was my mom's nurse the first night she was there, he talked with me for quite awhile, ❤️❤️❤️

Families often have questions beyond hospice care — estate planning, elder law, funeral planning, and more. Placements are limited and selective — we review applications and only accept organizations that meet our standards for this section. Listings are paid advertising, not recommendations or endorsements. Families review the information and choose professionals for themselves.
