The Lynch Pavilion

The Lynch Pavilion is Treasure Coast Hospice’s Fort Pierce house. It was rebuilt after the 2004 hurricanes, reopened in 2007, and dedicated in 2019 after a donor renovation. The stay is short, not a long-term home. Rooms are private, with sleeper sofas and patios. Children may visit, and pets may come when it is appropriate, including through the Treasured Pets program.

I just saw on the news that a Treasure Coast employee was arrested for stealing and pawning jewelry from a patient. I’m not surprised because my family had a really harmful experience with this agency. My loved one was treated like a billing opportunity instead of a human being. Instead of spending time with my loved one in her final days, I had to fight these people to show up and provide care. Meanwhile, they were billing for services. they weren’t actually providing.

My family recently had the privilege of experiencing the care provided by Treasure Coast Hospice, and I cannot say enough about how grateful we are. When my brother was transferred to hospice, we were facing one of the most difficult moments of our lives. The word "hospice" often carries such a negative connotation, but our experience was the exact opposite. From the moment we arrived, every member of the staff treated my brother and our family with exceptional kindness, compassion, patience, and respect. The team took the time to explain everything clearly, answer our questions, and ensure that my brother was comfortable and free from pain. Their care brought an incredible sense of peace to our family during an unimaginably difficult time. We never felt rushed, and every interaction reflected genuine compassion and professionalism. While every person we encountered was outstanding, I am especially grateful for Marlene. Her kindness, support, and dedication made a lasting impact on our family. She went above and beyond to make sure my brother was comfortable and that we felt cared for every step of the way. Thank you to everyone at Treasure Coast Hospice for providing such extraordinary care. You helped bring comfort, dignity, and peace to my brother and our family, and for that we will be forever grateful.

I want to share a disappointing experience at Treasure Coast Hospice. While most of the staff was compassionate and helpful, there was one nurse, Paula, who was consistently uncooperative. She refused to give us basic information that we needed, despite all other nurses being extremely supportive. She acted as if she were a doctor, but she was just a nurse, and this made a very difficult time even harder for us. I hope the center takes steps to ensure better communication in the future.
