Before you call VITAS, you should consider Miami County hospice in Troy. They were so wonderful when they came in for my grandmother. We were so disappointed with Vitas. Several days went by after my grandfather was admitted with a promise of a nurse coming out, and no nurse. They did send, and kept trying to send, social workers to talk about our feelings! Well we didn't need to talk about our feelings, we needed a nurse for my dying grandfather. My grandfather would have been so much more comfortable in his last days if we had received the help we needed.
