Every listing here is a Medicare-certified hospice that reports serving Cobb County. The office might be elsewhere in Georgia — that is common. When you call, share your loved one’s address so the team can confirm they can come to you. FindHospices.com is free for families.
Other important resources for Cobb County families
Families across Cobb County often discover that choosing a hospice is only one part of the journey. Questions about funeral arrangements, cremation, estate planning, elder law, probate, advance directives, veterans’ benefits, and other important decisions frequently arise at the same time.
Placements are limited and selective — we review applications and only accept organizations that meet our standards for this section. Listings are paid advertising, not recommendations or endorsements. Families review the information and choose professionals for themselves.
Frequently Asked Questions About Hospices in Cobb County
Do we have to use the hospice a hospital names in Cobb County?
No. A hospital or physician can share names they work with often. You may still compare any Medicare-certified hospice that will come to the patient’s address. Calling for information does not enroll you.
Should we contact more than one hospice about Cobb County?
Yes. Compare who covers the exact address, how soon a nurse can get there, and who answers after hours. A referral is a starting point, not a requirement to use one brand.
Can hospice care be provided at home in Cobb County?
Yes. Most hospice care happens where the patient already lives — a house or apartment, or assisted living, memory care, or a nursing facility. Ask the team to confirm that specific address, not only the city or county name.
How quickly can hospice start in Cobb County?
When hospice is medically appropriate, many teams begin within about 24–48 hours, and some can start the same day when staffing allows. Ask who comes first and how a night call is handled. Then verify by phone.
Is Mableton its own city for a hospice search?
Yes. Mableton has been a city since 2023, inside Cobb County, alongside Marietta, Smyrna, Kennesaw, Acworth, Powder Springs, and Austell. Older paperwork may still talk about the area without the city name. Give the hospice the current city and ZIP, and ask whether that south Cobb route is one they staff daily. A Marietta team is not automatically an Austell or Mableton team.
We are near the Cherokee line. Should we use the Cobb page?
Only if the house is in Cobb. Acworth and Kennesaw are Cobb, and Canton, Woodstock, and Holly Springs are Cherokee. Paulding, including Dallas and Hiram, is a separate county to the west. Commuting to Wellstar Kennestone does not move the address. Ask the hospice to name the county it will serve, then open that county and city.
Hospice Care in Cobb County
Finding hospice care in Cobb County
Marietta is the county seat, and Wellstar Kennestone is the hospital families in the middle of Cobb name most often. Wellstar Cobb is in Austell, which is a different campus and a different drive, especially at night. Smyrna, Mableton, Kennesaw, Acworth, and Powder Springs each send families to one or the other, and sometimes to a hospital outside the county. Mableton has been a city since 2023, so older directions may still describe it as a community rather than a city. Ask the hospice which of these cities it covers every day. Do not let a Cherokee County referral or a Paulding County address ride along just because the map looks like one northwest suburb.
What families often compare across the county
When you call, ask about:
- Say whether the home is Marietta, Austell, Mableton, or another Cobb city
- Keep Cherokee County and Paulding County on their own pages
- Ask which campus area the on-call nurse actually leaves from
- Use the city of Mableton when that is the current city name
Where hospice care happens in Cobb County
Most hospice in Cobb County is at a house or facility in Marietta, Smyrna, Mableton, Kennesaw, Acworth, Powder Springs, or Austell. A short inpatient stay is a crisis bed, not a new address. Ask whether they use a hospice house or a contracted bed near Wellstar Kennestone or Wellstar Cobb, and how long a night call takes to your side of the county.
Local considerations for Cobb County families
This directory currently lists about 92 Medicare-certified hospices that serve Cobb County. That count is who can come to an address here, not how many offices sit inside one city.
Families in those cities still drive to Kennestone or Austell and then home. Ask which city, and whether the team covers the east side toward the river or the Paulding side. Northside and Emory Saint Joseph’s are in Fulton, not Cobb. Ask which one the discharge names.
When you are comparing, it often helps to:
- Confirm the exact street or ZIP in Cobb County — a city or region name on a brochure is not coverage
- Ask how long a nurse typically takes to reach that address after hours
- Clarify assisted-living or nursing-facility relationships if care would start in a building
- Use the Metro Atlanta hub only to scan, then come back to the patient’s city or county
This page is the county-wide list for Cobb County. Use a city page when you already know the community, or Metro Atlanta only to scan the wider region.
Where to start
Use the patient’s exact address, then open a tighter page if the home is in Mableton, Marietta, Smyrna, Kennesaw, Metro Atlanta.
